Terms & Conditions
Draft — not yet in force.
1. Who we are
Sodalius is published by Ansen Studio di Antonietta Di Cicilia, a sole trader based in Italy. Contact: [email protected].
[TO DEFINE] Consumer law requires a trader to state a full business address, and a VAT or tax identification number where one exists. Add them here.
2. What these terms are
These terms are the agreement between you and us for the use of the Sodalius app and this website. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
3. What Sodalius is — and what it is not
Sodalius is an organiser: it helps you record and share information about your dog's health, meals, walks and documents, and it reminds you of what you asked to be reminded of.
Sodalius does not provide veterinary or medical advice. Nothing in the app is a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a professional opinion, and no reminder replaces the judgement of a veterinarian. Always consult your vet for decisions about your dog's health, and contact them immediately in an emergency. Reminders depend on your device and its settings and may fail to arrive: do not rely on them alone for anything that matters to your dog's health.
Hazard reports are written by other users. We do not verify them and cannot guarantee they are accurate, current or complete.
4. Who can use Sodalius
You must be at least 14 years old. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use Sodalius only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
5. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for what happens through your account. Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else is using your account.
6. Family sharing
You can invite other people to your "pack" and assign them a role that determines what they can see and change. You decide who joins and can remove them at any time.
When you enter another person's details — a family member, a vet — you confirm you are allowed to do so. When you invite someone, you are making your dog's data visible to them: that is your decision and your responsibility.
7. Your content
Everything you enter remains yours. We claim no ownership of your photos, notes or records.
You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the service: to store your content, back it up, and display it to you and to the family members you have invited. This permission exists solely to operate Sodalius, ends when you delete the content or your account, and does not allow us to use your content for anything else.
8. Acceptable use
Use Sodalius lawfully and reasonably. In particular, do not:
- upload content that is unlawful, offensive, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- upload another person's data without being entitled to;
- file false or malicious hazard reports;
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- interfere with the service, overload it, or circumvent its security or its technical limits;
- copy, resell or redistribute the service.
If you seriously or repeatedly breach these rules we may suspend or close your account, after warning you where it is reasonable to do so.
9. Subscriptions and payments
Some Sodalius features require a paid subscription. [TO DEFINE] which features are free and which require a subscription; the price and billing period; whether there is a free trial and how long it lasts.
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. Payment, renewal, invoicing and refunds follow the rules of the store you bought from, and we never see your payment details.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You cancel from your App Store or Google Play account settings, not from inside the app. A free trial, if offered, converts into a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
If we change the price we will tell you in advance, and the change will apply from the next renewal. You are free to cancel before it takes effect.
Right of withdrawal. As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content supplied immediately, that right is lost once supply begins with your express consent and acknowledgement. Refund requests are handled by the store you purchased from.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Sodalius available and working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, updates, failures of the providers we depend on, or your own connection can all interrupt the service.
We may add, change or remove features to improve the app or for technical, legal or security reasons. If a change is significant and to your disadvantage we will give you reasonable notice, and if you have a paid subscription you may cancel it.
Should we ever discontinue the service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data before it closes.
11. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Sodalius at any time and delete your account and all associated data from Settings → "Delete account and data". Deletion is irreversible. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your data from the servers.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously breach these terms, or if we are required to by law.
12. Our responsibility
We are liable to you for damage we cause by failing to meet our obligations under these terms, but not for losses that were unforeseeable, nor for consequences of your own failure to follow them, nor for events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
Because Sodalius is an organiser and not a veterinary service, we are not responsible for decisions about your dog's health that you take on the basis of what the app shows, for a reminder that fails to arrive, or for the accuracy of a hazard reported by another user.
[TO DEFINE] If the app becomes paid, a lawyer will usually want a liability cap here (typically tied to what you paid in the preceding 12 months). Its wording depends on the pricing model.
13. Your rights as a consumer
If you use Sodalius as a consumer, you keep all the mandatory rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces them.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service changes or the law does. We will publish the new version at this address and update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will tell you in advance, inside the app or by email. Continuing to use Sodalius after a change means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can close your account.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of the place where you live.
If something goes wrong, write to us first: most problems are quicker to solve that way. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
16. Privacy
How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
